Created and donated by artist Chic Lotz, Purple Rain will make a fantastic serving set for your next meal. Lotz has been selling her work independently for years and teaches pottery and glazing, too. She made and donated approximately 100 ceramic bowls for Empty Bowl this year to ensure the event’s continuation and has been instrumental in all past years as well. ITEM 2:                Feeling Puzzled by D. Nelson  –  1 individual bowl      $65

This gorgeous bowl by artist D. Nelson is a one-of-a-kind showstopper. Use it for fruit, serving, or put it on display as a focus point of interest. This bowl is approximately 8.5 inches long and 3.5 inches tall. Apples not included. Hot foods and liquids not recommended.

ITEM 3:                Baby Bunny by Yvon Dockter – 1 sculpture            $45

Hand-sculpted by Yvon Dockter, Baby Bunny is the perfect addition to your spring décor or put him on display year-round. Baby Bunny makes for a perfect birthday or holiday gift! He’s approximately 6.5 inches tall, counting his ears. Dockter is a professional ceramist who teaches sculpture and Raku at The Curious Forge. ITEM 4:                Rainbow Delight by Brad Carter – 4-piece set       $100

Carter has been donating bowls to Empty Bowl for years and these bowls have some weight to them! Carter’s bowls are sure to light up and brighten your dinner table and surroundings. Each bowl is approximately 7 inches wide—enough for pasta dinners, soups, salads, and more!

ITEM 5:                Coffee for Two by Mindy Oberne – 2-piece set     $90

Love coffee? You’ll love artist Mindy Oberne’s larger than life coffee set. These jumbo coffee cups can hold anything hot, and cross serve as soup bowls, too—they are that big! Use them for traditional drinking/eating or repurpose them as planters, featured display pieces or more. Oberne has donated a whopping 100 bowls to Empty Bowl this year! She also sells her work independently, which includes both ceramic sculptures, bowls and photography. In addition to offering a gallery where patrons are invited to visit, Oberne will be featured at the 2021 Banner Mountain Artisans 17th Annual Holiday sale on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 20 – 21. ITEM 6:                Family of 4 by Karen James – 4-piece bowl set     $150

When artist Karen James heard about our little Empty Bowl all the way from Southern California, she wanted to help! James is known for her playful use of colors and faces. She is also a sculptor and a painter. Her bowls are not available locally. Be the first person to have a set in Nevada County! Connect with James>
