AnimalSave helped in the initial planning of the pet program, a program that allows people and their pets to receive shelter and care at Hospitality House.

Communities Beyond Violence (CBV)

CVB offers resources for domestic violence, sexually assaulted and human trafficking victims. Hospitality House refers clients that have been victims of abuse for assistance to CBV while CVB refers clients to participate in the Hospitality House Serves culinary program to help guests and clients receive culinary job training to develop confidence and new skills to obtain local employment.

FREED Center for Independent Living

FREED promotes independence for Hospitality House’s guests and clients with disabilities, through programs centered around issues arising from age and disabilities.

Friendship Club

Friendship Club consistently collaborates with Hospitality House on how to best help homeless youth and transitional age youth. Rather than compete for grant funding, Hospitality House and the Friendship Club work together to further their reach and services to the community.

Good Sun

Good Sun raised funding and acquired new Sunpower solar panels to donate a 14kW solar system at Utah’s Place with installation donated by California Solar Electric Co. The solar system saves the shelter approximately $4,200 in annual PG&E costs and helps Hospitality House reinvest savings back into the shelter for its guests.

Grass Valley Charter School

Grass Valley Chart School and its students host an annual Cup o’ Kindness campaign to raise money for the shelter. They also actively tour Utah’s Place with their students to help the students understand first-hand the causes of homelessness and the reality of what homelessness looks like. Likewise, Hospitality House visits the school for speaking engagements to reach a larger audience on the reality of homelessness.

Granite Wellness Centers (GWC)

GWC has partnered with Grass Valley Police Department (GVPD) and Hospitality House for the last few years to streamline accessibility to substance abuse treatment programs by making referrals for treatment and providing shelter for those waiting for treatment and those graduating from treatment. The program, known as Rapid Access to Wellness, is made possible by Dignity Health.

Hospice of the Foothills

Hospice works with Hospitality House to help individuals experiencing homelessness with end of life care. They also support Hospitality House guests seeking employment by offering free clothing vouchers at their thrift store to ensure homeless guests look and feel confident for job interviews.

InConcert Sierra

InConcert Sierra invites homeless guests to their concerts as a way to connect individuals with music who may otherwise never have the experience. They also partner with Hospitality House for mutual concert benefits. The last musical benefit co-hosted took place in Feb. 2020, raising financial support and awareness for both organizations.

Interfaith Food Ministry (IFM)

IFM provides food for families and individuals in Western Nevada County and supports Hospitality House with ongoing weekly food donations to ensure that the most vulnerable in our community continue to be well nourished.

KNCO Radio

KNCO promotes Hospitality House’s events throughout the year and engages Hospitality House staff with featured segment opportunities to showcase the work of Hospitality House and ongoing initiatives.

KVMR Radio

KVMR chats with Hospitality House staff every Friday at 8:15 a.m. with updates and real stories of guests to keep the community informed. They also help promote Hospitality House’s events and initiatives throughout the year, hosting additional radio interviews and segments as needed.

Nevada County Pets in Need (NCPIN)

NCPIN supports us through referrals and partnering on higher medical costs for animals. Since opening the pet program at Hospitality House in 2020, NCPIN has been a dependable partner for emergency animal assistance.

Pound Puppy Rescue

To support the pet program at Hospitality House, Pound Puppy sponsors our spay and neuters through Pine Creek Vet. They pay for all spay and neuter costs for homeless pet owners in the care of Hospitality House.

Rational Animal

As part of Rational Animal’s “Mother’s Comfort” project, they donate handmade cat and dog beds to Hospitality House as well as dog and cat necessities throughout the year to support the shelter’s People with Pets Program.

Re-Start Ministries

Re-Start Ministries helps newly housed guests of Hospitality House with their basic housing needs, such as small furniture, housewares, bedding and more so they can start on strong footing in their new home.

Salvation Army

Salvation Army and Hospitality House refer each other people and services needed to reach self-sufficiency. Salvation Army offers families the Booth Center for temporary family shelter, in which it focuses on breaking “the cycle of poverty.”  Both agencies work together to avoid duplicating services and explore ways to go after competitive grant funding together.

Sammie’s Friends

Sammie’s helped with the planning and development of the pet program at Hospitality House, a program designed to provide critical services and shelter to both homeless individuals and their pets at Utah’s Place.

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning (SAEL)

SAEL regularly tours the shelter, Utah’s Place, as the topic of homelessness is a main focus for the school every year. The school is actively exploring ways to build Hospitality House’s guests tiny homes in the future and looks forward to launching its first Cup o’ Kindness fundraising campaign for Hospitality House after the pandemic.

Sierra Roots

Sierra Roots helps people who are chronically homeless and provides weekly meals in Nevada City. Hospitality House donates needed items to its fellow homeless service provider and assists in providing transportation when their temporary warming shelter opens in partnership with County of Nevada each winter.

Sierra Harvest

Sierra Harvest helps Hospitality House sustain a year-round garden, offering guests seasonal workshops to learn gardening and farming as well as carpentry through garden build days. Guests also have an opportunity to harvest produce at Food Love Farm to ensure their personal skills and take their garden knowledge into their future homes.

Spirit Peer Empowerment Center

Spirit provides mental health services for Hospitality House’s shelters guest and clients. They empower each other through peer acceptance, respect, tolerance and hope to provide a safe and confidential place to begin to heal and embark on the journey towards recovery.

South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL)

SYRCL shares the same goals with Hospitality House by cleaning and beautifying Nevada County, and helps Hospitality House with its two major camp cleanups each year. SYRCL has taken an active role in learning more about homelessness by co-writing a watershed series in homelessness with Hospitality House that appeared in The Union in 2019. They also host their own camp cleanups, and Hospitality Houses has participated by offering educational support and talks around homelessness.

United Way of Nevada County

United Way gifted Hospitality House its Homeless Access Transportation (HAT) van in 2018 that provides Hospitality House’s guests and clients as well as low-income residents of Nevada County free transportation to medical appointments, groceries and related services. United Way promotes Hospitality House’s work across its channels to spread awareness and in turn, Hospitality House promotes their fundraising events and initiatives throughout the year too.  Hospitality House also volunteers at their events, most recently providing free transportation to their January 2019 health clinic.
