We’d like to give our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make Night of Giving possible. Our annual musical benefit generated just over $60,000 to help local families and individuals in need. Additionally, all week long the shelter has received Christmas gifts for guests, including 100 stuffed stockings from the Nevada City Ladder-Day Saints and 100 cash gifts and bus passes from the Nevada County Democrats, who also sponsored all seven homeless children in our care to ensure they had presents on Christmas morning. Additionally, not only our guests will receive Christmas presents this year but also our pets will receive presents! Thank you to Tractor Supply Co. and Incredible Pets for donating bags of treats for our furry friends! Thank you to the donors that came together to make Christmas dinner for the shelter possible. You have given all of us so much Christmas joy and more.

Normally at this time we thank all the cook groups who came and cooked over the last week, but to keep our shelter safe, our cook groups are supporting our meals by donating financial support and food, and Chef Chris is safely cooking all meals instead. We’d like to thank Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains, Mount Saint Mary’s Academy, Unity in the Gold Country, Seasoned with Love, Peace Lutheran Church, The Home Team, and Seventh Day Adventist Church for all their help. To everyone who donated our most needed items last week, thank you as well!
