“Nevada County’s three mayors addressed the public at Thursday morning’s “Breakfast with the Mayors” event, discussing issues of homelessness throughout the community. Following the addresses, a panel of expert stakeholders joined in the discussion and answered questions from the audience.
“We have competing ideas about how to address the issue of homelessness in this county,” Grass Valley Mayor Howard Levine said.
Many of the speakers agreed there are disparities between the different groups working for the county’s homeless population. The audience was provided with a flow chart created after the recent county homelessness stakeholders meeting, which illustrated the dozens of local organizations working on the same issue from different angles.”
