Grass Valley, Calif. (Nov. 26, 2019) – Save the date! The 14th annual Night of Giving returns to Miners Foundry on Saturday, Dec. 21, with all proceeds supporting Nevada County’s only year-round emergency homeless shelter, Hospitality House. This favorite hometown holiday party and musical benefit features over 30 local bands, including Petty Luv, Rita Hosking & Sean Feder, Sierra Master Chorale, Shay Dylan, Ivan Najera, and many more.
“This event is all about togetherness,” said Mikail Graham, Event Host and Founder of Night of Giving. “What started as a small evening with friends has grown into what it is today—a community-driven musical benefit for those in need. With volunteers abound, from the musicians on stage to the ticket takers at the door, all are helping to create greater impact. Together, we’re raising awareness and support for our homeless community, and we’d love for you to join us.”
In addition to music, attendees will enjoy a no-host bar and will have a chance to purchase dinner, as prepared by homeless students and graduates of the Hospitality House Serves culinary job-readiness training program—a program led by Chef Chris Fagan, an award-winning chef who competed in the Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt, Germany, alongside top chefs around the world, and who is a two-time champion of the Sam Choy Poki Contest.
Attendees are also invited to participate in a silent auction and raffle for a chance to win amazing prizes, including a murder mystery dinner, fine dining at Friar Tuck’s, a private tasting for up to ten friends at The Olive Groove, among many more wonderful items and experiences.
To make the evening all the merrier, from 5 to 10 p.m. only, any donation given beyond the ticket price will be tripled by angel donors. This means for one night only, a $5 donation will automatically become $15 (which equates to giving 15 hungry and homeless individuals each a meal). To understand first-hand the difference a donation makes, attendees will hear directly from individuals experiencing homelessness as they take a few minutes to share their personal stories and struggles on stage.

Parking
Hassle-free parking with shuttle service is available at the Rood Center, located at 950 Maidu Avenue in Nevada City; the shuttle will provide transportation between the Rood Center and Miners Foundry continuously from 5 to 10 p.m., making the Rood Center the most convenient place to park for event goers. Limited parking is also available onsite at Miners Foundry, located at 325 Spring Street in Nevada City, CA.
Tickets
The suggested donation for admission tickets is $25 per person and $10 additional for the delicious buffet dinner, but no one will be turned away. Children ages 12 and younger are free. Every donation given at the event, beyond the ticket purchase, will be tripled that night only by anonymous angel donors.
