Mikail Graham

Mikhail Graham wants you to know that more
than ever, Hospitality House needs your help.

Folksinger and social activist Bruce “Utah” Phillips devoted the last years of his life to Hospitality House’s mission of ending homelessness in Nevada County. Utah passed on in 2008, but his dream lives on with help of inspired community volunteers like Mikail Graham.

From the beginning seven years ago, Mikail Graham has produced A Night of Giving – a musical showcase of Nevada County’s top talent, including many of Utah’s friends and protégés.

A Night of Giving was resounding success from the start and continues to be one of the most popular and lucrative fundraisers of the year.

In this video, we hear Utah’s simple vision for human dignity. Then Debbie R, an HH graduate, tells how HH took her off the streets and helped her get a home of her own.

Next, we see Mikail Graham himself. A modest man, who has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for Hospitality House, Mikail invites you to come out and enjoy A Night of Giving – and give whatever you can to rescue our homeless neighbors.

It’s a family-friendly event featuring six hours of music on two stages with gourmet food and drink. more info

Finally, we read an appeal from Utah’s widow Joanna Robinson, a co-founder, staff monitor and current president of the board of directors of Hospitality House. It tells of the plans – and costs – to renovate a former church into a 54-bed overnight emergency shelter that will provide a safe, stable, welcoming environment that supports people in taking steps that lead to independent living.
